High Card Kitchen
Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and participation in all supper club activities, dining events, and social poker-themed evenings hosted at High Card Kitchen in Australia.
1. Terms of Use
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and participation in all supper club activities, dining events, and social poker-themed evenings hosted at our venue (collectively, our Events). By making a reservation, attending an Event, or otherwise engaging with High Card Kitchen, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with any additional Event-specific information provided at the time of booking.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms and Conditions, you should not make a reservation or attend our Events.
2. Eligibility & Guest Conduct
By attending our Events, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and are able to lawfully enter into these Terms and Conditions under Australian law.
We are committed to maintaining a warm, respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all guests and staff. You agree that you will:
- Treat fellow guests and our team with courtesy and respect at all times.
- Follow any reasonable directions given by our staff, hosts or management in relation to safety, seating, pacing of courses and social card-table activities.
- Refrain from disruptive, aggressive, discriminatory, harassing or otherwise inappropriate behaviour.
- Drink responsibly and comply with all applicable responsible service of alcohol requirements.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse entry or remove any guest whose behaviour is considered unacceptable, unsafe, or inconsistent with the atmosphere we seek to provide. Where removal occurs on this basis, any fees paid may be forfeited, except where otherwise required by law.
3. Reservations & Bookings
All reservations for our Events, whether pre-paid or held with a card, are subject to our reservation policy as outlined on our main booking and information pages.
By placing a reservation, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your booking is only confirmed once you receive a confirmation communication from us.
- You are responsible for ensuring that all guests in your party are aware of, and comply with, these Terms and Conditions.
- Confirmed guests are expected to arrive on time for the scheduled seating or Event start.
Late arrivals may affect your dining experience, including the number of courses served or the timing of social card-table segments. During peak evenings, if you arrive significantly late and have not contacted us, your table may be reallocated to other guests. In such cases, any entitlement to a refund or credit will be determined in line with our cancellation and refund policy and applicable Australian consumer law.
4. Private Dining & Group Events
Dedicated terms apply to private and corporate bookings, including, but not limited to, deposit requirements, minimum spend, guaranteed guest numbers and cancellation notice periods.
Where you request a private or group Event, including corporate suppers, celebrations or tailored social poker-themed evenings:
- Specific conditions will be provided to you at the time of enquiry or booking, and those conditions form part of these Terms and Conditions.
- Deposits may be required to secure your Event date and are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated in the booking documentation or required by law.
- Final guest numbers, menu selections and timing requirements must be confirmed within the timeframe advised by our team so we can prepare appropriately.
For Events with specific themes (such as social poker suppers), any special menu requests, dietary requirements or allergies must be advised in advance so we can assess whether they can be accommodated in a safe and practical way.
5. Social Poker-Themed Evenings
Our poker-inspired club nights are designed as hospitality-only, social entertainment. They are centred around shared dining, conversation and light-hearted card-table activities using symbolic chips and friendly, low-pressure play.
By participating in any of our social poker-themed evenings, you acknowledge and agree that:
- All card-table activities are strictly for fun and social engagement.
- Any chips used are symbolic only and carry no monetary value.
- There are no financial stakes, and no aspect of the evening involves real betting or financial rewards.
- Our table hosts oversee a relaxed, inclusive and gently structured format designed to encourage conversation, not competition.
- House rules for each evening will be explained by our hosts, and you agree to follow their guidance to maintain a welcoming experience for all guests.
We may adjust or refine the structure of our social poker-themed evenings from time to time to enhance the guest experience. Participation remains subject to these Terms and in the spirit of hospitality and shared enjoyment.
6. Food, Allergies & Dietary Requirements
We take great care in the preparation of our menus and are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience for all guests. However, as our kitchen handles a range of ingredients, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
To help us look after you and your guests, you agree to:
- Notify us of any allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements at the time of booking, or as early as possible before your Event.
- Ensure all members of your party are aware of the nature of our shared and set menus, and that cross-contact of ingredients is possible.
- Speak with our team on arrival if you have any concerns about specific dishes served on the night.
We will take reasonable steps to accommodate notified allergies and dietary requirements where we are able to do so, but we may decline a booking or recommend an alternative arrangement if we consider that we cannot safely meet particular needs.
7. Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change. If you need to amend or cancel a reservation, please notify us as early as possible so we can assist and, where practical, offer your place to another guest.
Entitlement to refunds or credits (where applicable) depends on the type of reservation and the timing of your cancellation, as detailed on our main booking page and any Event-specific information provided at the time of purchase. In general:
- Cancellations made within the specified notice period may be eligible for a refund, partial refund or credit, as outlined in the relevant policy.
- Late cancellations or non-arrivals may result in forfeiture of part or all of the amount paid, subject to our obligations under Australian consumer law.
- If we need to reschedule or cancel an Event, we will aim to offer an alternative date, credit or refund in line with applicable law and the details communicated to you at the time.
Your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not excluded, restricted or modified by these Terms and Conditions.
8. Limitation of Liability
We aim to provide a safe, enjoyable and welcoming environment for all Events. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law and subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law:
- Your participation in our Events, and your use of our venue, is at your own risk.
- We are not liable for any loss, damage, expense or injury that you or any guest may suffer in connection with any Event or your visit to our venue, except to the extent caused by our negligence or required by law.
- We are not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of any personal belongings brought onto our premises.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
9. Event Updates & Policy Changes
We may update these Terms and Conditions, our Event formats, menus, pricing and other details from time to time to reflect changes in our operations, guest feedback or legal requirements.
The most current version of these Terms and Conditions will be available on this page. By continuing to make reservations or attend our Events after any changes are posted, you confirm that you accept the updated Terms and Conditions.
If you have any questions about our Terms and Conditions, or would like further clarification before making a booking, please contact our team via the details provided on our Contact Us page.
